Penguin Book Competition - Colour
Choosing colours based on a time, a place and an event, and incorporating those into a final abstract image that means something to you through colours you have chosen. I chose personal themes that made sense to me, not perhaps others, and named them accordingly.
Green - "Ugly Trousers"
Blue - "First Day"
Yellow - "Nanna's Bathroom"
Afterwards, we put the colours up on the wall, cutting them into squares and are currently up with their titles sort of like a Pantone colour palette. I had fun letting go of technicality in this task and simply playing and experimenting with colour and what that means rather than making a drawing into something obvious and technical. It was also nice to have such a personal effect in my swatches!
