More Experimenting: Gold Foil Printing

The process of making gold foil printed images was difficult at first, and as shown above, I messed up on the alignment of printing the image and the foil. Despite this, I quite like the white gap! Let's say it was a happy accident.
I found out that I wouldn't be able to print gold foil directly onto my photographs which was a shame, but I decided to do some more testing, on plain A4 for now.
First I had to edit my images so that the area I wanted to print foil onto was the only thing on the paper, and had to be in black ink.
I printed these on plain A4 paper, and with a square of gold foil that covered the black, put it through the lamination machine. The gold foil transferred where the black ink had been printed. Now, I needed to add the rest of the photograph in normal black ink. To do this, I simply had to put the paper through the printer and print the photograph (excluding the areas I had blacked out, these now needed to be while so no ink would print over the top).
Next time I will focus more on the alignment of the printing process as well as seeing what my options are regarding which paper I can use this with. I can still use photo paper, but I need to think about resizing the image so I can stay with the dimensions needed in the brief.
